形態特徵

• Small shrubs, evergreen; branchlets stellate pubescent.
• Leaves thinly coriaceous, estipulate, oblong-lanceolate 5–9 cm long, 2–3 cm wide, apex acute to obtuse, base acute, margin densely mucronate-serrate, glabrous on both surfaces, upper surface dark and shining, midrib and veins impressed, lower surface pale, midrib and veins raised, lateral veins 5 or 6 per side, strongly ascending, reticulations indistinct on upper surface, slightly raised on lower surface; petiole 5–10 mm long, sulcate, pubescent.
• Inflorescences terminal cymes, ca. 3 cm across, pubescent; peduncle slender, 2 cm long; pedicel 3–4 mm long; calyx tube ca. 2 mm long, glabrous, 5-lobed, lobes triangular, ca. 1 mm long, ciliate on margins; corolla white, tube ca. 5 mm long, 2 mm across, limb 5-lobed, lobes ovate, ca. 2 mm long.
• Fruits red, ovoid, ca. 7 mm long; endocarp incurved, ventral side strongly incurved.

分布

• 台灣 : In forests throughout the island, 1,600–3,000 m.
